In Ontario, hospitals are not fully funded by the government. It is the responsibility of the local community to fund 100% of hospital equipment costs and 10% of the cost of building new hospital spaces. This community-funded portion is known as the local share, and it applies to every hospital across the province — including the William Osler Health System.

Supporting Care Close to Home

The William Osler Health System serves more than 1.3 million people across Brampton, Etobicoke, and Peel Region — one of the fastest-growing and most culturally diverse areas in Ontario. Osler’s hospitals see over 1 million patient visits every year, operate some of the busiest emergency departments in the province, and support essential programs in mental health, addictions, renal care, obstetrics, and seniors’ health.

As our community continues to grow at nearly three times the provincial average, the demand for health care services continues to rise. Emergency departments receive up to 80 ambulances per day, outpatient mental health referrals exceed 1,400 per month, and the senior population is expected to grow by more than 80% in the coming years.

What Your Donation Helps Fund

Through our partnership with the William Osler Health System Foundation, 10% of every coffee sold by The Mister Brewer is donated back to the hospitals that serve our community.

These donations help fund:

• Life-saving medical equipment used in emergency departments, operating rooms, diagnostic imaging, and specialized care
• Advanced technology that allows doctors and nurses to deliver faster, safer, and more effective treatment
• New and expanded hospital spaces, including the development of the new Peel Memorial Hospital, ensuring care can keep pace with our growing population

This funding directly supports facilities such as:

• Brampton Civic Hospital, home to one of Canada’s busiest emergency departments and advanced life- and limb-saving technologies
  
• Etobicoke General Hospital, a full-service hospital serving both local residents and international travellers
  
• Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness, an innovative care centre currently expanding to include new inpatient spaces
